We are doing our first club training session this coming Tuesday on 31 January at the club.The club is putting firs measures for us to share our games and analysis. By doing this hopefully we gonna improve our chess understanding.

Chorlton I managed to beat a Urmston I 4-3 to earn a vital point. As as I remember this is our first victory in the Manchester League and well done team. Here the rest of the results..

Manchester Chess Federation (MCF) have recently received information from the English Chess Federation (ECF) regarding changes to the existing match fees model. Currently the model is simple. Clubs are charged on a per match basis of 58p per game.
The MCF has sent the following out in a statement:
Your President, Mick Norris attended the recent meeting of the English Chess Federation and has written a paper to explain the new funding arrangements which will operate from next September. It is absolutely vital that he receives feedback from clubs by the time the MCF Council meets next (17th January) and trusts that you will discuss the paper with as many of your club members as possible. There will be an extraordinary general meeting of the MCF Council in the early months of next year on a date yet to be decided.

Chorlton A loses again and we are on the verge of getting relegated unless if we start winning again. However Bolton came with their strongest team spearheaded with IM Jeff Horner, Michael Surtees and Harry Lamb.
My self was playing on the first board against the IM and I was lucky to come out with a draw. Ra was on the second and nearly got Michael Surtees but missed a winning combination. Well done to Phil for pulling the only win of the night and hopefully we do better next time. Many thanks to the whole for the fighting spirit and sporting atmsophere!

Chorlton II beats Chorlton IV in a an interclub game to win the match. We had few surprises of the knight, Phil Obi was beat by Graham and Steve Fogg was beaten by Khalid. The rest of the results are below!
